Rayo Vallecano vs Barcelona

Dani Alves has admitted that Barcelona are a team in transition at the moment, as they prepare to face Rayo Vallecano.

The Blaugrana host the Franjirrojos on Saturday, and go into the match with a 100 per cent record so far.

The defender though, has insisted that there is still room for improvement.

“I think it is important to win to improve and correct things. We are in a transitional moment where we are looking for our best version,” Alves told Barca TV.

“But, we are on the right track because we are winning. What we’re doing is not so different, but we are introducing new things to counter certainteams that just come to defend.

“We’re looking into ideas for creating more goalscoring chances There are alternatives to the philosophy that we have had, but with the same goal of having a lot of possession and much of the play.

“We will try to reach our best version as soon as we can, but time will tell. We know that we lack certain aspects.

“Sometimes we feel that we are not co-ordinated in pressurising, we need to bring the team together.

“Sometimes the lines are far apart, but every day we are getting better.”

Rayo’s Jonathan Viera meanwhile, hopes his men believe they can win at Camp Nou.

“I believe my team can beat anyone,” he told a Press conference. “We have to be convinced that’s the case.

“We all know who we will be playing – they are probably the best in the world. But we are playing at home with our fans behind us.

“In a 90 minute game, anything is possible.

“We have to be convinced we can get a result.”
