Levante vs Mallorca

Levante will aim to prolong their stay in La Liga’s upper reaches with a win at home to beleaguered Real Mallorca.

The Granotes gave another good account of theirselves in Europe in midweek, coming from 2-0 to draw 2-2 with Hannover. It wasn’t enough to secure top spot in Europa League Group L but Juan Ignacio Martinez was delighted nonetheless.

“We have been ambitious in this group and it's been a great experience so far.”

Levante, currently 8th in the standings, haven’t tended to suffer European hangovers this season, quite the contrary, winning three of their five League games after Thursday night action, the only two defeats coming against Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Mallorca are just a point above the bottom three and still without a win since week 5, but did derive some encouragement from the spirit shown in last week’s 1-1 draw with Real Zaragoza.

“It will not be easy, but we will be at 300 per cent in order to achieve the victory that we and our fans both deserve,” claimed midfielder Javi Marquez.

Kick off: Sunday December 9, 11.00 (BST)
