Levante vs Barcelona

The battle of the Blaugranas pits giant killing specialists Levante against the seemingly invincible Barcelona.

Levante have perhaps never enjoyed such a high point in their history. The Granotes are sat 4th in La Liga and looking forward to European football after Christmas having booked their place in the Europa League last 32.

“It is a tremendous joy,” beamed Coach Juan Ignacio Martinez after his side’s 3-1 win over Helsingborgs on Thursday.

Martinez will hope his men can give Barca as awkward an examination as they gave Real Madrid two weeks ago, but the Catalan club are thriving under Tito Vilanova, who has been showered with praise this week.

“You should know best how to manage the dressing room and on that aspect Vilanova is doing great,” declared club legend Johan Cruyff.

“He’s surprised us all a bit with his character and capacity for leadership,” said Xabi Hernandez.
