Granada vs Getafe

Angel Lafita has reflected on the good spirits in the Getafe camp, but warns that recent form may be at risk against Granada this weekend.

The Madrid outfit have spent the international break in fifth place in La Liga, thanks to a run of four wins from the last five played.

Sunday lunchtime sees them host Granada but, according to their creative midfielder, aware of the necessity to work to maintain their current League position.

“Whenever you are going well, the break is always better, just as on the contrary if things are not going well,” Lafita has mused this week with regards to the current mood.

“It is also true that we have spent this break in fifth place, much different to how we went into the previous break a month-and-a-half ago.

“Confidence is very high and we now face this weekend’s match with Granada with the idea of winning and staying in these positions, for how nice it is to be there.

“All games are tough and right now the League is very competitive. Except for two or three, in the rest of the grounds you can win but also be beaten.

“This is how the match with Granada will be disputed, I think that there will be chances for both and who takes their chances will have the better chances of winning.

“Can Getafe make it into Europe? I think we are cautious. We already experienced this when last year we were fourth or fifth and we have learned from that.

“One must be cautious because in football everything chances in seven days. If the work and predisposition is good then the team will respond and we can be up there.”
