Getafe vs Eibar

Fran Escriba insisted he was not worried “in the slightest” about staying on as Getafe Coach after Friday’s “worst performance” in a 1-1 draw with Eibar.

A late Borja Baston equaliser cancelled out Emiliano Velazquez’s second straight home goal to leave El Geta in La Liga’s relegation zone and their fans making their unhappiness known at the end of the match, but the Coach was in no mood to throw in the towel.

“I’d say that although I understand the fans’ disappointment, I ask them to keep their faith in the team,” he said after the game.

“All I can do is thank the fans for their suffering, I only have words of gratitude.

“It would’ve been ideal to go to the break with a win, but I don’t mind too much.

“It’ll be good just for the players to cleanse their minds. After two weeks of calmness, we’ll be better for it.

“[On not winning their ‘final’], we have to look forward to our next game, there’s no other.

“We have to play every game as they come. This was possibly our worst performance in terms of the football we played of the second round [of the season].

“[My job] is the only thing which doesn’t worry me in the slightest.

“I want to be here, but it’s not my decision. My idea is to work and seek solutions. In everything I do, I don’t think about my job.”
