Celta Vigo vs Real Betis

Celta Vigo will be brimming with confidence when Real Betis pay a visit to Balaidos on Monday night.

Los Celestes sprung a surprise by beating Real Madrid 2-1 in the Copa del Rey last 16 in midweek. It’s hardly an unassailable lead going into the second leg but does give the 15th placed Galicians renewed self-worth.

“I’ve thought more than once I would go my entire career without a goal,” confessed surprise goalscorer Cristian Bustos.

Betis are 5th, 10 points ahead of Celta, and emerged with great credit from their 2-1 defeat to Barcelona last weekend. However they were much less impressive in drawing 1-1 with Las Palmas in the Copa on Thursday.

“We could have won without any problems, we are not happy because we could have decided the tie here,” lamented Coach Pepe Mel.

Kick off: Monday December 17, 8.30 (BST)
