Atletico Madrid vs Malaga

Pitting second v third, if it wasn't for El Clasico Atletico Madrid Malaga would be by far the weekend's most appealing game.

Both sides have been on fire so far and remain unbeaten, with Atleti two points ahead having drawn one game less.

However, whilst it would been unfair to describe it as a slump, Los Colchoneros have certainly lost some of their momentum in the 1-0 wins over Espanyol and Viktoria Plzen.

“Malaga are having a good run, playing well and have speed in every department,” said Coach Diego Simeone after the Europa League result on Thursday. “We will have to be alert.”

Manuel Pellegrini's side also prevailed in Europe, albeit in much more spectacular style, winning 3-0 away to Anderlecht to remain top of their Champions League group.

“Malga go out to win every game,” warned the Chilean tactician. “Especially those away from home.”

Kick off: Sunday October 7, 20.30 (BST)
