Neither Athletic Bilbao or Sevilla are in form but with so much individual talent on the pitch this game could well be a thriller.
Athletic collected only their third La Liga win of the season last Sunday, beating Granada 2-1 away, but were plunged back into the doldrums by a 3-2 loss at home to Lyon on Thursday which effectively eliminated them from the Europa League.
“Overall we made plenty of opportunities and had a lot of the ball,” stated Marcelo Bielsa. “But these excuses, when compared with the result, lose their worth.”
Michel's Sevilla have lost valuable momentum with a 2-1 loss at Real Zaragoza and a goalless draw at home to Levante, but sat 7th with 15 points, they are still well placed to launch an assault on the top positions.
Last season this fixture ended in a 1-0 victory for the hosts.
