Fran Escriba has challenged Elche to generate momentum in their survival bid following Sunday's 2-1 victory over Athletic Bilbao.
The Valencian outfit moved off the bottom of La Liga thanks to their win at San Mames, and the Coach, although delighted with the three points, was keen to see his side build on the result.
“We kept order throughout the game, knowing they were going to throw everything at us,” he said after the game.
“It’s true that on those occasions you need a bit of luck, but the team were focused and could have won even more comfortably at the end.
“I’m proud of both the players and employees working with the first team in a difficult time for the club. Everyone’s still very close and games like this reinforce the group.
“We put in good performances against Malaga and Villarreal, and the team have finally started a positive trend which has to be continued at home next week.
“We’re now just one win away from leaving the bottom three, and [a win] would do a lot for our confidence, but there’s a lot of the League to go.”
