Hristo Stoichkov warns against Neymar’s return to FC Barcelona

Former FC Barcelona legend Hristo Stoichkov has warned the club against resigning Neymar this summer.

The Brazilian international has been heavily linked with a return to the Camp Nou in recent weeks, however the former Bulgarian international is strongly opposed to seeing the 29-year old in a FC Barcelona shirt again.

"Barcelona do not need Neymar, he told US TV station Univision.

"He has no place there, as they already have important players like Suarez, Griezmann, Messi and Dembele.

"Where is he going to play in that team?

"He would be like a bomb in the dressing room.

"In my opinion, I do not want him back at the club."

Stoichkov, who won five La Liga titles as a player at the Nou Camp also claimed he does not believe that the Catalan side have the money to bring Neymar in, after a summer of big spending.

Neymar's future remains open to speculation with reports claiming that the defending La Liga champions have dispatched a delegation to Paris to bring Neymar back to the club he left in 2017 for a world record €222m fee.

However amid interest from arch rivals Real Madrid, FC Barcelona could be priced out of a potential move, with PSG reportedly rejecting their offer of a player-plus-cash deal involving Philippe Coutinho.
