Coach Paco Jemez

Having represented Spain 21 times, including at Euro 2000, former defender Jemez coached a series of lower-League outfits before making the step-up in June 2012, when he took advantage of Jose Ramon Sandoval’s repeated disputes with Rayo Vallecano administrators.

Jemez’s penchant for free-flowing, attacking football soon became evident at the highest level as he guided Rayo to their best-ever La Liga finish of 8th in his first season, with two more mid-table placings following, but his gung-ho approach was replaced by accusations of defensive negligence last term as the Madrid side were relegated.

The Coach was linked with a number of Primera clubs ahead of the 2016-17 campaign but plumped for Granada in the wake of their Chinese takeover.
