Coach Diego Simeone

Buenos Aires-born Simeone is a former Atletico Madrid player and was part of the club’s 1995-96 La Liga and Copa del Rey double-winning side.

After playing spells with Sevilla, Inter and Lazio amongst others he coached in Argentina and Italy before replacing Gregorio Manzano as Atleti boss in December 2011 and leading Los Rojiblancos to Europa League glory six months later.

A Copa del Rey success followed in 2013, before he led Los Colchoneros to a sensational La Liga title win the following year, as well as the Champions League Final, where they were beaten by Real Madrid after extra-time.

The 45-year-old experimented with Atleti's tactics and playing style over the next three years, and while they did not repeat their League exploits, they achieved another Champions League Final, again losing to their arch-rivals.
