Manolo Jimenez praised the Real Zaragoza fans, whilst Jose Luis Oltra refused to blame the referee for his side’s loss.

Goals from Apono, Francisco Montanes, Alvaro and a brace from Helder Postiga gave the Blanquillos a resounding victory, and the 48-year-old Coach congratulated the supporters for seeing them through the 90 minutes.

“The relationship between the fans and the players means we can achieve great things,” he told a Press conference. “We took our chances today and continue to grow.

“It was certainly an exciting match, but it was a night to say thank you to all those who were here to support.”

Oltra meanwhile admitted it was his side that lost the game, not the official, after Pizzi had been sent off for diving.

“My team did everything to win in Zaragoza,” he told a Press conference. “You cannot speak of justice or injustice.

“The defeat is our own making.

“The team are extremely upset, but I am happy with what they've done today. The spirits are low, but we have to continue because our play has been good.”
