Real Madrid face rivals Getafe without James Rodriguez

Real Madrid will continue to be without midfielder James Rodriguez, as they kick off 2020 with a La Liga trip to Getafe.

Zinedine Zidane's side face their city rivals with no fresh update on their injury situation before the Spanish winter break in December 2019.

The Frenchman had stated before Christmas that he was confident Rodriguez would be able to return in early January, however he has not been passed fit for the first game of the year.

Rodriguez is joined on the sidelines by Marcelo and Lucas Vazquez, who are both out of action for another two weeks, but Brazilian international Casemiro is back following a one game ban.

Skipper Sergio Ramos replaces Casemiro in the sin bin, as he serves a one game suspension after picking up five La Liga yellow cards this season, with Alvaro Odriozola drafted in as cover.
