Hugo Sanchez: Real Madrid should go for Harry Kane in 2020

Real Madrid club legend Hugo Sanchez has called on the club to make a world record move for Tottenham striker Harry Kane in the future.

The former Mexican international told reporters from Marca, in a wide ranging interview on the club's current situation, that a move for a world class striker is imperative for them in 2020.

Following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo in 2018, Los Blancos have been linked with moves for a host of top forwards, including Paris Saint Germain pair Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, however Sanchez believes there should only be one move.

"Real Madrid should have enough strong players for two starting elevens, and that includes two excellent No.9's."

"Kane is someone I have noticed for a long time, and if I were in charge at Real Madrid, I would move for him,"

"Even if it were to cost over €200M, I would do it."

"Ronaldo's move from Manchester United many years ago was expensive, but look how that turned out for the club."

Current No.9 Karim Benzema overtook Sanchez in the club's all time record goal scorers earlier this season, but the 61-year old believes the former French international needs help, if Real Madrid are to succeed in La Liga.

"Since Ronaldo left, Benzema has filled that goal scoring role."

"But he needs an Emiliano Butrageno figure, just as I did as a player."

"The most difficult thing in football is scoring goals."

"You can spend over €300M on six or seven players that do not guarantee goals."

"Or you coould spend €200M on Kane, who does offer that."

"Nothing guarantees titles like goals do."
