Zinedine Zidane calls on Gareth Bale for Valencia test

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has recalled Gareth Bale for their crunch La Liga clash with Valencia.

Los Blancos head to the Estadio Mestalla tomorrow, knowing that a win will put the top of La Liga ahead of the midweek El Clasico trip to Barcelona.

Bale missed the Champions League clash with Club Brugge due to a minor injury, and Zidane wants to assess the Welsh international's fitness ahead of the Camp Nou tie.

Zidane does have issues at left back ahead of the game, with Marcelo ruled out through injury, and French international Ferland Mendy serving a one game suspension.

He could opt to play Dani Carvajal on the opposite side, or hand a rare start to Alvaro Odriozola, with Carvajal remaining at right back, or draft in centre back Eder Militao or Nacho Fernandez.

Zidane has no fresh injury worries to contend with, with long term absentees Eden Hazard and James Rodriguez still sidelined, and Brahim Diaz left out.
