Real Madrid complete Champions League group stage with Club Brugge win

Real Madrid ended their Champions League group stage with a straight forward 3-1 win away at Belgian side Club Brugge.

Zinedine Zidane's side finished in second place in Group A, behind Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain, and could face a tough last 16 draw.

Los Blancos struggled to get going against their stubborn hosts, with Luka Modric's early effort they only chance of note in a poor first half for both sides.

The visitors upped their game after the break, with Brazilian Rodrygo volleying home Alvaro Odriozola's cross on 53 minutes, to give Zidane's side a crucial lead.

However the Belgian side reacted immediately, with Hans Vanaken curling home a equaliser three minutes later following a quick counter attack from the hosts.

With the game in danger of petering out in the closing stages, as Vinicius Junior fired home his first Champions League goal of the season, on 64 minutes.

Veteran midfielder Modric sealed all three points for Real Madrid in added time, as he arrived on cue to sweep home Casemiro's pass.
