Real Madrid remain keen on Gareth Bale - Paul Pogba swap deal

Real Madrid are still reportedly confident on securing a deal for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba in the January transfer window.

Zinedine Zidane was clear in his determination to sign the French international prior to the start of the 2019-20 campaign, identifying him as their primary transfer target.

However, United held firm on the 26-year old, and he remained at Old Trafford, despite constant rumours linking him with a move to Spain.

Los Blancos are now hoping to launch an audacious swap deal for Pogba in the winter market, with Welsh international Gareth Bale heading in the opposite direction, according to reports in El Desmarque

Bale has also been linked with a move away from the La Liga giants, with a summer move to the Chinese Super League falling through following disagreements over a transfer fee.

Real Madrid are reportedly keen to get a deal wrapped up in the coming weeks, to prevent another side entering the race for Pogba, as he enters into the last 12 months of his contract in Manchester.

Zidane is also reported to be willing to include Colombian international James Rodriguez into the deal, alongside Bale, to secure Pogba's signature in 2020.
