Barcelona receive fitness boost ahead of Champions League trip to Inter Milan

Barcelona have been handed a positive injury boost ahead of their Champions League trip to Inter Milan next week.

Defenders Jordi Alba and Nelson Semedo both took part in a full training session at the club's Joan Gamper Sports City complex, according to reports in Marca.

Semedo has been out of action for over a month with a calf injury, whilst Spanish international Alba has been sidelined for four weeks with a thigh problem.

Manager Ernesto Valverde will make a late decision on the pair on Monday morning, ahead of the flight to Italy, with Alba closer to a comeback than Semedo at this stage.

Barcelona have already qualified for the last 16 stage, but Valverde will want the pair to have some minutes under their belt ahead of next weekend's La Liga clash with Real Sociedad, followed by their El Clasico tie on December 18.

Alba is likely to be fit for the visit of Real Madrid, but Semedo remains a doubt, and Valverde is likely to make changes for the game against Antonio Conte's side.

The Catalan side are likely to make major changes for the game, with Carles Alena, Carles Perez, Ronald Araujo and Arturo Vidal all likely to start at the San Siro.
