Real Madrid: Gareth Bale injury confirmed

Real Madrid have confirmed their third first-team injury in one day with the news that Gareth Bale now faces a layoff.

The news of Bale’s injury comes after reports that Eden Hazard now faces a longer absence than first feared while full-back Marcelo has also been ruled out – both will now miss El Clasico against Barcelona on 18 December.

Diario AS reports on Bale’s thigh injury in his biceps femoris muscles and while it is not thought to be a serious injury, he is set to miss the next week of action to avoid a longer injury.

It is reported that the Welsh forward will be back available for first-team action for the trip to the Camp Nou after sitting out the upcoming matches against both Espanyol and Club Brugge, while he is also a major trip for the trip to Valencia.

Marco Asensio, James Rodriguez and Lucas Vazquez are other current injury absentees for Los Blancos.
