Real Madrid ‘intensify interest’ in Napoli star Fabian Ruiz

Real Madrid are intent on landing Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz with interest intensifying in recent weeks, say Cadena Ser.

The 23-year-old has become a star at both club and international level – winning all six of his senior caps for Spain this year and netting in the recent 5-0 win over Romania.

A report in The Guardian in October claimed that Los Blancos, alongside Barcelona and Manchester City, were watching the highly-rated midfielder.

That was followed by ESPN FC saying that a meeting was held between Madrid and Fabian in the Spanish capital in October and the former Real Betis star prefers a move to them ahead of the Blaugrana or City.

Paris Saint-Germain are also in the running, according to the latest reports, although Madrid are now in ‘constant contact’ with him and they are said to be his preferred option.

Fabian joined the Italian side in a €30m transfer from Real Betis in the summer of 2018, but a report in Diario AS this June claimed Madrid were interested in a transfer for the midfielder.

The 23-year-old is said by Napoli to be ‘non-transferable’ but the report adds that they will listen to ‘juicy offers’ for the player and could be seduced by bids in excess of €70m.
