Barcelona confirm Ousmane Dembele injury scare

Barcelona have confirmed that forward Ousmane Dembele will undergo further tests on a thigh injury suffered in the 3-1 Champions League win over Borussia Dortmund.

The French international lasted less than half an hour against his former club, as he pulled up with an injury.

Barcelona medical staff and skipper Lionel Messi spoke with him on the pitch, prior to his withdrawal, but it was clear that he would in pain and would not be able to continue.

Antoine Griezmann replaced his international team mate, and netted his first Champions League goal for the club, alongside goals for Messi and Luis Suarez.

The club tweeted during the match that Dembele had gone for medical examinations on the injury, with an update expected tomorrow morning.

Dembele has endured an injury disrupted start to the campaign, after missing the first five games of 2019-20 due to an ankle injury, and initial reports suggest he could be set for a lay off of around three weeks.
