Neymar on the bench for PSG at Real Madrid

Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar will not start in Tuesday’s match against Real Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday, say L’Equipe.

The Brazilian star has been unavailable for the Parisians for a six-week period and PSG boss Thomas Tuchel has taken the decision not to risk him from the start in the Spanish capital.

Neymar was substituted off in the 65th minute of his return to first-team action against Lille on Friday and it is said that Kylian Mbappe, Mauro Icardi and Angel Di Maria will start in the attacking three of a 4-3-3 formation for Tuchel’s side on Tuesday.

The Brazilian star has been heavily linked with a return to Spanish football as an exit from the French capital had appeared to be looking increasingly likely this summer, but no move materialised.

The former Santos forward left the Camp Nou for Paris in the summer of 2017 for a world record €222m fee, but reports continue to suggest he may be open to a departure from the Parisians.

Neymar has continually been linked with a return to Spain since his departure with the Catalan giants and Madrid said to be keen on a future transfer.
