RB Leipzig defender Lukas Klostermann wanted by Barcelona

Barcelona are tracking RB Leipzig full-back and Germany international Lukas Klostermann, report El Mundo Deportivo.

The right-back has started 16 matches for the high-flying Bundesliga outfit this campaign but his contract at Leipzig expires in the summer of 2021.

He is said by the report to be an alternative to Bayern Munich defender and fellow Germany international Joshua Kimmich, who may prove to be unattainable for Barca.

The 23-year-old enjoyed a strong tournament at this summer’s European Under-21 Championships and Diario AS reported that Atletico Madrid were heavily monitoring his performances throughout the competition in Italy.

Having been capped eight times by the German national team this year, Klostermann is growing in demand and Arsenal have also been reported to be monitoring his situation.

Klostermann joined RB Leipzig in 2014 from VFL Bochum and has been involved in their promotion to the top tier and unprecedented rise in German football.
