Real Madrid: Lucas Vazquez breaks toe in gym accident

Real Madrid player Lucas Vazquez could miss up to six weeks of action with a broken bone after dropping a dumbbell weight on his foot.

As outlined by Marca, Vazquez was doing physical work in the gym when he dropped the weight on the big toe in his left foot, breaking a toe and causing him to miss a minimum of one month of first-team football.

Vazquez is set to miss Madrid’s upcoming matches against Real Sociedad, PSG, Alaves, Espanyol, Club Brugge and Valencia, while he is also now a major doubt for El Clasico against Barcelona on 18 December.

The Spaniard has already missed a month of action this season with a muscular injury this campaign.

The 28-year-old is the latest in a long line of Madrid injuries this season – Gareth Bale has just returned from a six-week layoff, James Rodriguez is now injured while Marco Asensio has been ruled out for the campaign.
