Spain stars back Robert Moreno amid Luis Enrique rumours

Spain players have lined up to show their support for manager Robert Moreno, following widespread speculation that he is in line to be removed from his role tomorrow.

Moreno stepped in to replace former boss Luis Enrique during La Roja's Euro 2020 qualification campaign, and has subsequently secured their progress into next summer's competition.

Wins against Malta and Romania in the past seven days ensured they ended qualification with a bang, however the RFEF confirmed after the 5-0 Romania win at the Wanda Metropolitano that they will be holding a press conference tomorrow.

Enrique is expected to be restored to the position of senior team manager for Euro 2020, however midfielder Saul Niguez confirmed in his post-match interview that the squad are behind Moreno.

"Robert Moreno is with us, just as he has been throughout qualification."

"We are super happy with him."

The Atletico Madrid star's comments were echoed by team mates Gerard Moreno and Fabian Ruiz, who both confirmed they were unaware of Enrique potentially returning and that they were happy with Moreno being in charge.

Moreno has enjoyed an unbeaten nine game run in qualification, with seven wins and two draws, however he is set to be replaced by his former colleague tomorrow, with former Celta Vigo boss Carlos Unzue rumoured to be Enrique's new assistant.
