Real Madrid: James Rodriguez faces three weeks out with knee injury

Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez has suffered minor knee ligament damage and is set to miss three weeks, according to Diario AS.

The medical team of the Colombian international has already communicated with Los Blancos as to the extent of the injury, the report adds.

The next step will be to make the relevant exams to evaluate the true extent of the injury, with these set to take place in Miami, United States, in the next few days.

However, James has definitely been ruled out of Colombia’s upcoming match with Peru and will now be hoping that the injury is not as bad as first feared, but three weeks out is the first official estimate.

James had only just returned to fitness after several weeks of inactivity due to physical problems in the Spanish capital, with this latest setback adding to the frustrations.

He has not played a game since October 22 when he appeared for the final 12 minutes of the trip to Galatasaray in the Champions League.
