Valencia must sell ahead of next summer

Valencia must make a profit of €40m in player sales ahead of 30 June to balance their books, according to Marca.

The report adds that it is the third successive year in which Los Che are required to meet such a demand - with the sale of Joao Cancelo to Juventus in 2018 and goalkeeper Neto to Barcelona the following year meeting the threshold.

Now they are required to sell one or more players ahead of July once again while the latest accounts also show that there is an outstanding debt of €529m at the Mestalla - an increase of €30m from last season.

Revenue from competitions for the Copa del Rey holders is said to have increased by €59m while the money earned through TV rights went up by €13m.

The off-field situation at Los Che has not been helped by the exit of Coach Marcelino Garcia Toral and general manager Mateu Alemany, following a series of high-profile fallouts at the top of the club.
