Neymar still intent on Barcelona move – reports

Neymar has not given up on his dream of returning to Barcelona, according to a fresh report published in El Mundo Deportivo.

The report adds that the Brazil international was once again spotted in the Catalan capital this week and was said to be spending time with former teammates Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

The former Santos forward left the Camp Nou for Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2017 for a world record €222m fee, but reports continue to suggest he may be open to a departure from the Parisians.

Neymar has continually been linked with a return to Spain since his departure with the Catalan giants and Real Madrid said to be keen on a future transfer.

However, despite a prolonged saga of multiple reports claiming that the clubs were in negotiations and a deal was on the verge of completion, no move ever materialised.

However, PSG midfielder Verratti told Telefoot this week: “Neymar is fine.

“He is certainly happier when he is on the pitch. However, he is working well. At one point, he wanted to leave. He had some difficult moments. In the end, he stayed and he is training better than ever. He really wants to return as soon as possible to help the team to go far.”

Neymar has been derailed in the French capital by injuries – he has been involved in just 42 of a possible 89 Ligue 1 matches since his switch in the summer of 2017.
