N’Golo Kante happy at Chelsea despite Real Madrid links

N’Golo Kante has reiterated he has no desire to leave Chelsea despite media links with a transfer to Real Madrid.

A report from El Desmarque last month outlined the intention of Los Blancos, who are said to view the France international as the ideal candidate to bolster their central midfield options, and still view James as expendable.

However, in an interview with Telefoot, Kante appeared to pour cold water on such claims: “Of course (I could finish my career at Chelsea), today I am with Chelsea until 2023.

“So, in my head, I hope to continue to have great seasons with Chelsea.

“Today at Chelsea, I have had three wonderful years winning titles. I think that it is a club that has helped me a lot and I hope that I will be able to win a lot more titles here.”

Kante won back-to-back Premier League titles with Leicester City and Chelsea before winning the World Cup with his nation last year.

The 28-year-old is now the star player at the West London club following Eden Hazard’s move to Madrid this summer and it is said that Zinedine Zidane is a big admirer of his fellow countryman.

There have been doubts expressed about the form of Casemiro and it is claimed that Kante would be a direct upgrade on the Brazilian holding midfielder.

However, any stumbling block to such a move would be the financial outlay with the Europa League holders set to demand a huge sum for any interested bidder.
