Karim Benzema surpasses Ferenc Puskas with Eibar goals

Karim Benzema's fine form continued with two goals in Real Madrid's 4-0 La Liga win at Eibar, making it 11 for the season for the former French international.

Those two goals mean the former Lyon man has now broken two Real Madrid club records in the space of week of action, according in reports in Marca.

Two goals in the midweek 6-0 win over Turkish side Galatasaray edged him onto 50 European goals for the Spanish giants, ahead of club legend Alfredo Di Stefano's record at the club.

But his double at the Estadio Ipurua means that he has now moved ahead of another Los Blancos hero, Ferenc Puskas, with 157 La Liga goals for Zinedine Zidane's side.

He is now sixth on the club's all time La Liga goal scorer list, behind Cristiano Ronaldo, Raul, Di Stefano, Santillana and Hugo Sanchez – who has 164.

The 31-year old is now La Liga's leading scorer for 2019-20, with nine goals, and he will be confident of breaking the 20+ La Liga mark before the end of the campaign – a feat he has only achieved three times in ten seasons in Madrid.
