Zinedine Zidane: Real Mallorca defeat was a turning point

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has revealed that their defeat to Real Mallorca last month served as a turning point for his squad.

Los Blancos slipped to a shock 1-0 loss away at the Balearic side back in October, and the Frenchman stated in his post-match press conference after their 4-0 win at Eibar that is was a key point in the season.

"We have worked hard and looked to improve," he told an interview with Movistar, cited in Marca.

"The defeat against Mallorca was tough to take, but from there on we have got better."

"With the quality we have in the team it is easier, but we have increased our level of performance."

"But there is still work to, and we must keep on improving."

Real Madrid have won four and drawn once since that Mallorca defeat, moving themselves back into the La Liga title race, and the brink of qualification for the Champions League last 16 stage.
