Real Madrid pass their Eibar test with dominant 4-0 La Liga win

Real Madrid navigated their way past a potentially tricky La Liga test away at Eibar, with a forceful 4-0 win at the Estadio Ipurua.

Manager Zinedine Zidane spoke ahead of kick off about the importance of winning difficult away games this season, and his side responded with a ruthless first half display.

Karim Benzema got the ball rolling for the hosts after 17 minutes, as he reacted quickest inside the box to steer home past Eibar keeper Marko Dmitrovic.

From there on, the game was to be decided by two penalty decision that went in Los Blancos' favour.

Firstly Eden Hazard was brought down by Pablo De Blasis, for Sergio Ramos to score from the spot, on 20 minutes.

Before Lucas Vazquez was fouled by Cote ten minutes later, with Benzema taking over spot kick duties from captain Ramos, to make it 3-0 inside the first half an hour.

With the game essentially over before a ball was kicked in the second half, Real Madrid worked hard to maintain their focus and keep the tempo up.

Zidane's side were rewarded with a fourth goal just after the hour mark, as Federico Valverde netted the best goal of the night, as he slotted home from 20 yards.

Eibar did look to rally for a consolation goal in the closing stages, with Takashi Inui and Gonzalo Escalante both denied by Thibaut Courtois, but Real Madrid were home and dry by then.
