Marcelo to miss Real Madrid trip to Eibar

Marcelo is set to be unavailable for Real Madrid’s trip to Eibar on Saturday after sustaining an injury against Galatasaray.

The Brazilian was substituted off for Ferland Mendy in the 42nd minute of Wednesday night’s match after sustaining a muscular leg injury.

As outlined by Marca, the player will not undergo tests on his fitness until Friday, but the report claims he is 99% likely to miss the trip to Ipurua.

Marcelo provided two assists against the Turkish club in the 6-0 rout at the Bernabeu, feeding his fellow Brazilian, Rodrygo Goes, to net the opening two goals.

It is claimed that the experienced full-back wanted to carry on due to his level of performance but Zinedine Zidane opted to withdraw him from action to prevent further damage.

Marcelo is now expected to rest over the international break following on from this weekend’s matches before returning to action for Madrid’s trip to Real Sociedad on 23 November.
