Real Madrid scout Under-17 World Cup, eye Matias Palacios

Real Madrid are scouting a number of talents at the Under-17 World Cup and have made Argentina star Matias Palacios their main priority.

According to a report in Diario AS, the San Lorenzo midfielder – who made his senior debut in September and became the youngest ever player in the Argentine top flight.

Palacios is said to be extremely technically gifted, with the report adding that he has ‘the ability to carry the ball attached to the foot’ and has a release clause of €18m in his current contract.

He is said by the report to be just one of seven players who are on Madrid’s radar, with Talles Magno, Naci Unuvar, Adil Aouchiche, Samson Tijani, Johan Mina and Fernando Ovelar also being monitored.

Ecuador and Emelec star Mina is said to also be being tracked by Barcelona alongside a host of top European clubs, including both Manchester United and Manchester City.

Unuvar is an attacking midfielder and is widely considered to be one the best talents in the Ajax youth academy while Aouchiche is a midfielder for Paris Saint-Germain, and is most suited to playing just behind a striker.

Talles Magno is a Brazilian forward with Vasco de Gama who is widely heralded for his physical power, speed, ability and definition, despite his youth.

Samson Tijani is a Nigerian central midfielder who plays in the pivot position while Paraguayan Fernando Ovelar of Cerro Porteno, is just 15.
