Zinedine Zidane calls on more consistency from Real Madrid players

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has demanded that his players show more consistency from now on.

The Frenchman was left frustrated as Los Blancos slipped to their first La Liga defeat of the season away at Real Mallorca.

However Zidane was clear in his message that his players need to adapt quickly to playing across multiple competitions.

"The problem at the moment is that we have to show a consistent level every three or four days.

"At the moment, we are not doing that, and that needs to improve.

"I am not worried, but I always tell the players that if they want to win trophies, they need to show consistency."

Zidane was without seven first team players for the trip to the Balearic Islands, but he refused to use that as a reason for their sub-par performance .

"The injuries are not an excuse.

"We have enough players to cover for injuries, and those players have to show they are to step up.

"We need all of the squad able to play when called up."

Real Madrid face a tough run of fixtures – despite next weekend's El Clasico tie being postponed, with two Champions League games against Turkish side Galatasary and La Liga games against Real Betis and Leganes.
