Galatasaray, Fenerbahce rivalry for Sevilla’s Ever Banega

Turkish giants Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are both interested in landing Sevilla midfielder Ever Banega, according to reports.

Banega’s contract at Los Rojiblancos is up at the end of this season and it is claimed that the club will consider cashing in on him this January.

Estadio Deportivo cite reports in the Turkish press that claim that both of the Istanbul giants are keen on the technically gifted midfielder.

It is also claimed that Banega wants to finish his career in his home nation of Argentina, with Boca Juniors and Newell’s Old Boys two options for a future move.

The 31-year-old became a key component across two campaigns at Sevilla, helping them to a further two European titles before departing for Inter in 2016.

Banega returned to the Andalusian club in the summer of 2017 following an unsuccessful season in Italy and has once again become a fundamental part of their first team.

The Rosario-native made 51 first team appearances for the Andalusian club last campaign.
