Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez is on Manchester United’s shortlist for a transfer in 2020, according to reports.
The Spain international is one of six players listed as being wanted by the Red Devils, who are desperate to reinforce a threadbare squad over the coming transfer windows.
A report in Diario AS outlines how Saul is not a priority player for United in comparison to others - such as Juventus forward Mario Mandzukic - but is nonetheless being monitored.
Various reports had linked the midfielder with a summer move to either Manchester City or United, but Los Rojiblancos would not budge on his €150m release clause.
The 24-year-old signed an eight-year contract before the start of the 2018-19 season, following interest from La Liga rivals Barcelona, with the clause inserted into the new deal.
Saul, who was won 18 caps for the Spanish national team, is one of the pillars of the current Atleti team and he has won five trophies with the club.
