Real Madrid, Manchester United to battle for Erling Haland

Manchester United and Real Madrid are both keen on signing in-form RB Salzburg striker Erling Haland, report Diario AS.

The 19-year-old was coached by fellow Norwegian Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Molde and the report claims that if the manager is still in place at Old Trafford come next summer, the striker will be a primary target.

Haland has been in remarkable goalscoring form this season, scoring 18 goals in 11 official matches this season – including a hat-trick against Genk in the Champions League, when he played for just 70 minutes.

The report cites transfermarkt’s valuation of €12m for the striker, whom Salzburg signed from Molde for €5m last year.

Italian agent Mino Raiola will have a significant role in the player’s future but the report outlines how he would be a continuation of Madrid’s recent signing strategy.

Signing young players with a long-term future would follow the path of Rodrygo Goes, Vinicius Junior, Martin Odegaard, Takefusa Kubo and many others.
