Real Betis boss Rubi under pressure – reports

Directors of Real Betis have held a meeting in which the future of Coach Rubi came under scrutiny, according to El Chiringuito TV.

Los Verdiblancos have made a sluggish start to their league season picking up just nine points from their opening eight matches and sitting just two points and two places above the relegation zone.

The 49-year-old was only appointed in his position this summer, moving from Espanyol, but has struggled to find a run of good form across the opening two months of the campaign.

Rubi led Huesca to promotion from the second tier for the first time in the club’s history in 2018 but subsequently moved to the RCDE Stadium.

The success continued for the 49-year-old last season as he returned the Catalan club to European football for the first time in over a decade.

After the international, Betis will face trips to in-form sides Real Sociedad and Granada before hosting Celta Vigo – a run of games which may prove decisive for the Coach.
