Manchester City rule out Martin Odegaard move

Manchester City have dismissed reports linking them to La Liga star Martin Odegaard, report the Manchester Evening News.

The Norwegian, who has joined La Real on a two-season loan deal from Real Madrid, caught the eye with a series of eye-catching performances to lift the September Player of the Month award for La Liga.

Odegaard has scored twice and provided two assists in his first seven league games for La Real and he is said to be very happy with the club.

However, Odegaard had been linked with a move to English football with City and Wolverhampton Wanderers linked with moves earlier this week.

He has created the most chances per game and has tied Toni Kroos with most key passes per game across the league – helping the Basque side to three wins from four in the month.

However, beyond the stats it has been the star performances of the attacking midfielder, who has demonstrated his great technique, vision and creativity across the opening games.

He has spent the last two seasons out on loan, at Heerenveen and Vitesse respectively, before joining the Basque club at the start of the season.
