Luis Suarez hails half time intervention in Inter Milan victory

Barcelona forward Luis Suarez has praised Ernesto Valverde's half time team talk as La Blaugrana secured their first Champions League win of the season.

Suarez netted twice in the second half, as Valverde's side overturned a 1-0 deficit at home to inter Milan at the Camp Nou.

With the defending La Liga champions under pressure at the break, the Uruguayan praised his manager for a calmness in the dressing room at half time.

"The manager spoke to us at half time about the issues from the first half.

"He told us to be more focused in both our pressing of Inter, but also how we looked to use the ball.

"That is what we have this manager for.

"He corrects our mistakes and shows us how we can improve."

Despite the initial setback, Suarez added that the squad still retain a confidence in themselves to achieve their goals this season.

"We are the best team in the world.

"We know that we are always under the microscope, but we have beaten a rival in the Champions League, and that is a big result.

"We continue to trust in each other and that team work secured the result tonight."

Barcelona now face a Champions League double header against Czech side Slavia Prague, as they look to progress to the knockout stages, alongside La Liga games against Sevilla, Eibar, Real Madrid, Real Valladolid and Levante in the coming weeks.
