Real Betis track Boca Juniors midfielder Ivan Marcone

Real Betis are eyeing a move for Boca Juniors midfielder and Argentina international Ivan Marcone, say reports in Spain.

Mucho Deporte say the 29-year-old – who won his first cap for his nation earlier this year – is on the radar of Los Verdiblancos.

It follows on from reports that Andres Guardado looks set to leave Betis next year and this could open up a spot for a new central midfielder to arrive.

Marcone only joined Boca this January from Cruz Azul in a €7.5m deal while he previously played for Arsenal Sarandi and Lanus in Argentina.

Guido Rodríguez (playing for America in Mexico) or Emre Can, of Juventus, are also said to be potential January moves for the Seville-based club while Leandro Paredes and Carles Aleñá – of Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona – are more creative players who are under consideration.

Marcone is said to match the profile of what Betis are in the market for.
