Alvaro Morata sent-off, rants on social media

Alvaro Morata and Salva Sevilla have continued their spat following on from the Atletico Madrid’s striker red card on Wednesday.

The striker was sent-off after both he and Real Mallorca’s Xisco Campos were booked for squaring up late in the evening La Liga clash, with Morata then quickly shown a second yellow card after dissent.

Morata then angrily told Spanish media after the match: “Let Xisco Campos say it (what was said) if he has the guts, I did nothing.”

The former Chelsea striker will now miss the weekend clash against Real Madrid, another of his former clubs, and has continued his war of words online with another Mallorca’s players – Salva Sevilla.

“In my 35 years, what happens on the field stays there,” Sevilla wrote on Twitter. “You cannot tell lies to justify your actions. My words to you were ‘you are a daddy's boy’, it was an error by me and I apologise.

“I will not allow them to say I messed with his wife and children.”

Morata wrote on Twitter: “Only you and I know what you said to me. What is said on the pitch stays on the pitch so I won't say another word. Good luck in the future.”
