Vinicius Junior and Lucas Vazquez hopeful ahead of Madrid derby

Real Madrid pair Vinicius Junior and Lucas Vazquez are in confident mood ahead of the Madrid derby this weekend.

Zinedine Zidane's side go to the Wanda Metropolitano unbeaten in league action and top of the La Liga table following a 2-0 win at home to previously unbeaten Osasuna.

A spectacular first goal of the season for Vinicius Junior and a debut goal for Rodrygo Goes secured all three points, and the Brazilian is ready to fight for his starting place against Diego Simeone's side.

"It has been difficult for me so far this season, due to injuries.

"The tears after my goal were from relief at being back playing in the team again, and I love playing at the Santiago Bernabeu.

"There is no better feeling than playing well and scoring before a derby game."

Vinicius' comments were echoed by teammate Vazquez, as the team prepare to head to their arch rivals.

"Now we arrive into the derby game on the back of a win and an unbeaten start.

"We have picked up some big wins so far this season.

"We know it will be an important match, but we will go into it with a lot of confidence."

Real Madrid are unbeaten in their last six league meetings with Atletico Madrid, including a 3-1 win at the Wanda last season.
