Barcelona v Real Madrid El Clasico date, time confirmed

La Liga has confirmed the date and kick-off time for the first El Clasico of the season between Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The fixture at the Camp Nou has been scheduled for Saturday 26 October with a 1pm CET kick-off time, meaning the game will get underway at 12pm for UK viewers.

It will be the first early kick-off between the two sides since December 2017, when Barcelona ran out 3-0 victors at the Santiago Bernabeu thanks to goals from Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Aleix Vidal.

La Liga confirmed the date and time on Wednesday, a month in advance of the fixture, giving fans ample time to make plans for the highest profile clash of the campaign.

Los Blancos have not won any of the last six El Clasico fixtures – with the Blaugrana triumphing on four occasions, racking up an aggregate advantage of 15-4 over that time period.

UK viewers have been frustrated by the scheduling of the game in recent seasons as it has occasionally coincided with the 3pm ‘blackout’ that is in place across the nation for live televised football on Saturdays.
