Jordi Alba set for FC Barcelona absence through injury

FC Barcelona defender Jordi Alba is set for a spell on the sidelines with a thigh injury.

The Spanish international was forced off after 40 minutes in their Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund after pulling up in the first half.

He has started, and played the full 90 minutes for La Blaugrana in all four of the opening games, but early indications have the 30-year old out for at least two weeks.

FC Barcelona have not confirmed how long his recovery is expected to take, but manager Ernesto Valverde indicated in his post-match press conference that he would miss the La Liga game at Granada CF this weekend.

Sergi Roberto replaced Alba against the Bundesliga side, with Nelson Semedo switching over to fill in at left back.

Semedo is set to start there this weekend, with Junior Firpo also sidelined through injury, despite giving away a second half penalty against Lucien Favre's side in his unfamiliar role.
