FC Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde was pleased with Lionel Messi's first appearance of the season, at Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
The club captain has missed all four of the club's opening games of the 2019-20 La Liga, after picking up an injury during pre-season.
He came off the bench for a 30-minute cameo in the 0-0 draw with the Bundesliga side, and Valverde was pleased with what he saw from the Argentina international.
"He played like any other player that had not featured in pre-season training.
"He came into a game that was already being played at an incredible pace.
"But I felt that he did enough in what was his first game of the season.
"We are working to get players back fit, and it was also Luis Suarez's first full game of the season."
Valverde also confirmed that defender Jordi Alba suffered an injury against Lucien Favre's side, and would be assessed by the club's medical staff in the coming days.
