Donny Van de Beek on Real Madrid’s radar for 2020

Real Madrid to return to the negotiating table next summer for Dutchman Donny Van de Beek, say AS

The Ajax midfielder was subject of much speculation this summer with The White's openly courting the 22-year-old after a fine year in Amsterdam with 17 goals and 13 assists.

The newspaper says that it would be in the best interests of the Madrid based outfit to monitor Van de Beek an extra year before returning to sign him in 2020.

Although the first option for Real Madrid was Paul Pogba, the Ajax midfielder was never far from their interest and over the course of the summer there was a constant source of negotiations for the player.

According to this source, it was manager Zinedine Zidane who put the brakes on the deal – citing the fact he only saw Pogba as the man to transform notably the midfield, especially in Champions League games due to the players high running capacity.

A transfer which seems it will rumble on for some time to come.
