Franco Vazquez to swap Sevilla for Torino

Torino are intent on signing Sevilla midfielder Franco Vazquez in the closing week of the transfer window, report ABC de Sevilla.

The report claims that the Argentine has already said that he is happy in Seville, but it also seems clear that with new boss Julen Lopetegui that he will have a secondary role this season.

The 30-year-old joined Los Rojiblancos from Palermo in 2016 and has made 135 first-team appearances since, netting 19 goals.

“I have a contract in Seville and I am calm,” the report cites Vazquez as saying.

“It is not so much a matter of numbers, but the desire to always play at the highest levels; I'm already 30-years-old and I know I don't have much time left. I hope to finish my contract in Seville, I still have two more years. That is my wish, then, we'll see.”

Vazquez – who previously spent a year in La Liga on loan at Rayo Vallecano – was signed by former sporting director Monchi under the instruction of then-Coach Jorge Sampaoli.
